Inspired by Hope College students, the Generation Spark strategy helps bring together youth and adults in one-to-one mentoring relationships that have a unique shared purpose: to identify, assess and recommend solutions for real problems in church and community.
Rasikas Films and colleagues were asked to create a video that would introduce Generation Spark to church leaders and share what Millennials were thinking. Parameters included a modest budget and a looming deadline. So, a simple solution with minimal prep time was needed.
The team agreed that an authentic way to show what’s on the minds of youth was to simply ask them. And it required a filming approach that stayed within budget, was comfortable for the participants and spoke directly to viewers.
Cue the Interrotron.
The Interrotron was invented by Errol Morris, director of the 2003 Oscar-winning “Fog of War”. The Interrotron was named after two important concepts: terror and interview. It’s purpose was to lessen the terror most people feel when being interviewed on camera.
It’s as much an approach as it is a device. And when applied well, the results can be compelling.

Rasikas Films collaborated with colleagues in the summer of 2017 for a regional TV spot to promote the Muskegon Museum of Art's exhibition Edward S. Curtis: The North American Indian. The exhibit drew visitors from 44 states and 18 countries in the 12 weeks since its May 11 opening.
